Rubus parviflorus

These unusual plants are indigenous to northern climates and are only found in a few areas, one being Michigan's U.P. The leaves are large and shaped like maples. The plant has large white flowers which produce red berries shaped like shallow thimbles. The plants grow along forest edges and have made their way along many roadsides, especially dirt roads, in the U.P. Jam made with the fruit is very good, and easy. Just use equal amounts of sugar and berries and process!
